Ox and Hartis Carbon Neutral
This means we did not add to global warming in the year of certification as we saved the same amount of greenhouse gas emissions as we produced.
About us Ox & Hart Financial Services are an award-winning mortgage and protection advisory service with over 14 years experience in the industry. We help clients throughout Oxfordshire and the Home Counties. Our mission statement is to become a truly carbon neutral business. We no longer work within a typical office environment that is over-reliant on fluorescent lighting and coal-fired electricity. We instead opted for a virtual business address and conduct most of our operations from home. Our energy consumption is 100% renewable and we are also, for the most part, paperless – even our business cards are digital! We encourage our partners to reduce their paper usage too. We aim to create a sustainable future, seeking inspiration from the past. |
We are committed to reducing our Carbon Footprint by
1. Reducing our emissions from the use of energy (scope 1 & 2) by 5% yoy
2. Reducing our emissions from the goods and services we purchase (scope 3, cat 1) by 5% yoy
3. Reducing the intensity of our emissions (Kg CO2e per £1,000 turnover) by 7% yoy
4. Investigating installation of Intelligent Heating Controls
5. Reducing our emissions form travel by using bus & efficient diary planning
6. Investigating archiving for non GDPR compliant cloud files
Our Net Emissions is the total amount of greenhouse gases we produced in the year once the amount we saved has been taken into account.

We are providing efficient cookstoves in MalawiWe have invested in a carefully selected range of offsetting projects, like this one that is making childhood safer, creating jobs and saving firewood in Malawi by providing efficient cookstoves. Exposure to indoor cooking smoke is the world’s leading killer of children under five and is reported to be responsible for around four million deaths per year. In addition, Malawi alone loses 2,000km2 of forest a year due to 93% of the country’s energy demand coming from wood fuel. 91% of rural households use traditional three-stone stoves that use a lot of wood, produce prodigious smoke and cook food relatively slowly. All projects in this portfolio are Gold Standard Certified | We are investigating intelligent heating controlsWe already purchase 100% renewable energy, but we recognise the importance of reducing our energy consumption to ensure that there is enough supply o renewable energy as demand increases.. We have committed to investigate installing an intelligent heating controller. This can save energy use by learning how you need to use energy. It can get to know the temperature that you like when you’re at home and turn itself down when you’re away. It can learn how your home warms up or how draughty it is, so it only uses the energy it needs. |
